Dragon Trails Africa Welcomes New Director of Operations: Chad McCordic to Lead East Africa Ventures

Nairobi, Kenya – September 1, 2025 – Dragon Trails Africa is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Chad McCordic as the Director of Operations East Africa. In this role, Chad will represent Dragon Trails’ board of directors in Kenya and oversee a diverse portfolio of projects and investments under the Dragon Trails Impact Fund.

Chad, a Canadian national, brings over 15 years of leadership experience across Africa, Asia, and North America, with a deep focus on rural development, sustainable tourism, and impact-driven initiatives. He has lived and worked in Sierra Leone, Ghana, Kenya, and South Korea, building a career defined by resilience, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to deliver results in complex environments.

Most recently, Chad served as Country Director for OneVillage Partners in Sierra Leone (2020–2024), where he managed a team of more than 50 staffs and oversaw community-led development programs that improved the quality of life for over 50,000 people in rural communities. Under his leadership, the organization grew from a grassroots initiative to a mid-sized international NGO with multi-year funding commitments and expanded impact.

With a proven track record of managing complex projects in rural contexts, he combines deep practical expertise with a passion for sustainable development. Chad is also an enthusiastic motorbike rider, a devoted coffee lover, and a strong believer in community-driven enterprise values, that resonate deeply with Dragon Trails’ mission.

Chad’s immediate focus will be the launch of Zebra Coffee in Sekenani, oversee our investment in Mara Balanite - a boutique hotel near the Maasai Mara, and the rollout of Zebra Trails African Motorcycle Adventures, expanding Dragon Trails’ footprint in African motorbike tourism. He will also oversee impact initiatives including a biofertilizer project, a sandal-making enterprise Atelier Akala, and investments via the Nairobi Business Angel Network.
